You are entitled to special leave of absence with retention of your monthly income in accordance with the table below. 
If a specific situation is also arranged by law, the most favourable provision will apply for you.

Situation Length of absence

The death of:

  • your partner;
  • your child residing at home (including step- or foster child

From the day of decease up to and including the day of the funeral

The death of:

  • a parent (including parents-in-law, step- and foster parents);
  • a grandparent
  • your child not residing at home (including a step- or foster child or a child by marriage);
  • your brother or sister (including brother- and sister-in-law, half-, step-and foster brother/-sister
  • a grandchild.

One day and a second day to attend the funeral.
If you have been appointed to arrange the funeral: from the day of decease up to and including the day of the funeral.
